Volvo is synonymous with words like “safety” and “durability”. Not exactly exciting, but invaluable, nonetheless. With innovations like laminated glass, 3-point seat belts, rear-facing child seats, and blind spot information systems to their credit, Volvo has made many contributions to the automobile. It seems that the two words previously mentioned are not the only attributes they would like to be remembered for. The Coupe Concept was released last year, and Concept XC Coupe was released at this year’s North American International Auto Show. Enter the third of three concept cars being presented by Volvo, the Concept Estate.
Whether these images were leaked, or released remains a mystery, but the Concept Estate is part of a new design language for Volvo. We can’t say whether wagons are gaining popularity with the American audience, but they are a mainstay in Europe, replacing S.U.V.’s for utility.
