John Hennessey is known for making fast cars go faster. This time he did it before anyone else with the new C7 Corvette Stingray. Taking delivery of a Stingray with the optional 3LT package (including the Z51 suspension upgrade), the guys at Hennessey Performance performed a series of upgrades to make it what they call the HPE600 C7 Corvette. These upgrades include long-tube headers, ported cylinder heads, high-flow catalytic converters, and an HPE camshaft and engine tune. To get over that 200MPH mark, they added 100 shot of nitrous.
The interesting thing about this stunt was that they not only secured a blocked-off piece of road complete with police escorts, but they helped to test a new Texas toll road. Henessey, who was driving, reported the road was “super-smooth”, and had no issues at high speed. The toll road features a booth with an RFID toll system which actually caught the Stingray doing 200MPH. It’s a pretty cool video, and that motor sounds great. Let us know what you think.
